Microgreens FAQ

How long do microgreens stay fresh?

This depends on how you store your microgreens. They can last up to two weeks in your fridge. Keeping them dry is essential to retain freshness. We recommend that you put a clean paper towel in the container so that it wicks moisture. Feel free to replace the paper towel as needed.

Do microgreens need to be washed before being eaten?

We strive to keep the growing process as clean as possible. Our greens are grown indoors, in extremely sanitary conditions, without the use of pesticides. However, we recommend that you still wash your microgreens before eating. It's best to wash them right before eating so they don't stay wet and lose freshness.

Are the microgreens organic?

Our microgreens are not certified organic yet, but we use certified organic seeds, soil, and fertilizer. We even use filtered water. We hold our product at an even greater standard than organic because we never use pesticides.

When will I get my microgreens after I place an order?

If this is your first time ordering (or if you don't have a subscription with us), we will schedule a delivery date with you for approximately 10 days after you order. We don't start growing your microgreens until you place an order. That's right, we grow a custom order just for you! If you're subscribed to us, you will get your order every 7 days unless you skip a week.

Do microgreens really have the health benefits that you state on your website?

There is a breadth of scientific research that has compared the nutrient density of microgreens with their adult vegetable counterparts. We included references at the bottom of our home page, and we implore you to do your own research.

Where should I throw away the compostable plastic containers?

PLA containers are not perfect, but we chose to go with them instead of regular plastic because they are made from plants, not petroleum.

PLA containers are not recyclable. We plan to have a partnership with a composting company to pick up your used containers. For now, you can drop them off at a local composting company or throw them away in the garbage, where they will biodegrade eventually.

We appreciate your patience with us as we work toward offering more sustainable solutions.
